Höljes-on-sea

High water after Hell, heavy rain floods Höljes paddock.

Friday afternoon at Höljes. Rain. Lots of rain. So much rain that large parts of the paddock are flooded.

The Supernational support races drivers did their practice, but have not yet been out on the track to race and now look likely to complete their event tomorrow; standing water on the track also an issue.

It’s only a small inconvenience this afternoon, creating extra work for the organiser and the teams whose nicely established awnings now resemble the local duck pond. The process of scrutineering has been slowed down a bit and the paddock is a little more congested than it might usually be as the queue of those waiting for technical checks mingles with the late arrivals seeking out space in the already crowded paddock area.

Amid this, teams are carrying out the usual last checks and adjustments, notable among them Kenneth Hansen Motorsport whose engineers have decamped to M Technologies to avail themselves of setup equipment to give the new Citroën DS3 a thorough check over.

The track action here starts tomorrow with free practice at 1015 moving through to the first qualifying heat at 1600.
